What Is LHS Music Boosters?
Longmont High School (LHS) Music Boosters is a private, self-governed, non-profit organization recognized by the State of Colorado with IRS 501c(3) non-profit status. More importantly, LHS Music Boosters is a focused group of parents, teachers, community leaders and music students who work together to enhance the quality of musical education opportunities available at Longmont High School. Membership is required; yearly dues are collected in September on a per family basis.
LHS Music Boosters is not administered by or a part of the St. Vrain Valley School District. LHS Music Booster funds are privately managed and are not a part of the District Special Activities Fund.
The Executive Board presently consists of a President, Vice President, Secretary, General Fund Treasurer, Bingo Treasurer, At-large Department Representatives, Bingo Chairperson, Concession Treasurer and four Music Directors. The first four offices listed above observe a two-year term limit with elections held in May of each year for the following school year. Executive Board meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month from August through May and in Emergency Session as required.
LHS Music Booster finances are regularly audited by an outside accounting firm. State required quarterly financial reports are filed for both general fund and bingo accounts. Financial reports are presented at monthly LHS Booster meetings typically held on the second Tuesday of each month from September through May.
